Blur's Best Festival Performance
The UK Festival Awards have spoken and the best headline performance of the summer has been awarded to Blur for their appearance at Glastonbury. Their reunion was certainly much anticipated and I was green with envy for the whole summer that I did not manage to see them. I am just wondering why their set at Glasto was considered better than their set at T in the Park. Blur hadn't appeared at Glastonbury since 1998. The co-director of the Festival Awards said their performance was “awe-inspiring”.
I also wonder how much benefit the bands and organisers of all UK based festivals actually place on these awards...especially Damon Albarn – I mean I am sure he is just delighted at having been named the 'festival fitty' at the award ceremony. I mean never mind the musical achievements of this year, Albarn has really just wanted to be recognised as hot totty!
The awards are a bit late aren't they; I mean it is nearly Christmas. As much as people want to cling on to the summer months and the memories of sun soaked festivals, they are actually now a distant memory...especially that bit about sunshine since I reckon it was last sunny about a decade ago! However, the award's co-director said 2009 had been “another fantastic festival season”.
Glastonbury was considered the best festival of the year, but T in the Park organisers can relax in the knowledge that they had the best festival toilets!
And what better way to store and carry your festival photos than with a promotional usb stick of your choosing. |
